On this page we show/discuss everyday issues/solutions to give you an idea of what we do. In this case, we have a newer Mazda MPV with an engine knock at around 76k miles. Since the dealer wouldn't help them, we did. Here is the engine/transmission assembly removed from the vehicle.

This is a scary sight for any vehicle owner. Lucky for us the owner is happy with their vehicle. This is not unusual for an engine swap especially on an front wheel drive suv/van. Removal/Installation really wasn't difficult, however, somewhat time consuming. To be honest the worst part was swapping all the parts that surround the engine.

Believe it or not, but the little guy on the right is somewhere inside the big guy on the left. It's called a longblock and consists of most major components of an engine. The bulk of what you see on the left is also essential with the exception of a power steering pump....but most would consider that essential as well. Looks pretty smal doesn't it? We thought so...But rest assured it looked identical when swapped. The procedure for swapping components from this point is even more devistating for an owner to watch so I will leave that off.

Looks like a pretty sweet ride, right? We installed a Remanufactured engine into this car a while back and it's back....with a knock....and milk for oil. Replacement, once again, is apparently necessary.

As the engine is being swapped, we had to reuse the original engine's valve covers. This is nothing new, however, what you see in the picture is new! That is sand!! And we even found gravel. I do not know what shop worked on this last time, but I hope to never make the mistake of letting any customers go there.
